What this covers

Hardscaping, done properly

Most failed patios around here failed underneath. Not enough base, no compaction, nowhere for the water to go — and after three or four winters of freeze and thaw the whole thing is moving.

We build the base for the ground it's sitting on, which on Burke Mountain clay is a different job than it's down in Moody Centre. It costs more up front and it's the part nobody sees.

  • Paver patios and pathways
  • Retaining walls, engineered where needed
  • Proper base depth and compaction
  • Drainage designed into the build
  • Steps, edging and garden borders

How it works

No Surprises

Callum walks every property himself before we put a number in front of you, so the estimate you get reflects what's really there.

1

Callum walks the property

Every quote starts with a site visit. No estimates over the phone. Callum looks at grade, drainage, existing plants, and any problem areas before putting a number together.

2

You get a clear quote

Written scope, flat seasonal price for maintenance work, itemized for project work. No surprises when the invoice arrives.

3

We schedule you in

Maintenance clients are booked into a regular rotation before the season starts. Project work gets a start date confirmed in writing.

4

Consistent crew, all season

The same team handles your property. They know your yard, they know your preferences, and they don't need to relearn it every visit.

Questions

Hardscaping: what people ask

Why do so many patios fail after a few winters in this area?

Most failures happen underneath — not enough base depth, poor compaction, and nowhere for the water to go. After three or four freeze-thaw cycles the whole surface starts to move, and by then it's a much bigger fix than building it right the first time.

Does the type of soil on our property affect how the job is done?

It does, and it matters quite a bit here. Building on Burke Mountain clay is a different job than working in Moody Centre, so we look at the actual ground before we plan the base. Callum walks every site himself for exactly that reason.

What affects the scope and complexity of a hardscaping project?

The size of the area, the soil conditions, the drainage situation, and whether a retaining wall needs engineering are all factors that change the job. Send us a message or call and we'll arrange for Callum to come out and have a look.
