Who we are

What we collect

What you send us. Your name, mobile number, email address if you give it, and what you tell us about the job — through our form, by phone, by text, through the chat on this site, or when you book online.
Calls and texts. The number you contact us from, and the messages you send.
Basic technical information. Like any website, ours receives the details your browser sends — your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit — in standard server logs used to keep the site running and secure.

We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t sell your information to anyone.

How we use it

To reply to your inquiry and give you a quote.
To schedule and carry out the work, and keep you updated along the way.
To ask for a review once the job is finished. You can ignore it or tell us to stop.
To keep the records a business has to keep, such as invoices and tax records.

Text messages

If you tick Text me about my inquiry on our form, or text us first, we’ll send text messages about your inquiry and your job — replies to your questions, scheduling, updates while the work is under way, and after it’s done, a request to review us. Ticking the box is optional: your inquiry reaches us either way, and we’ll reply by phone or email instead.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also email sandra@cedarlinehvac.ca or call (604) 555-0477.

We don’t sell, rent or share mobile numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party, other than the service providers that deliver our messages for us.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that help us run the business — website hosting, the system that delivers our form, the customer, phone and text system we use to answer you and run the chat and take bookings, and email. They handle your information only to provide that service to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Maps on this site are provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when a map loads. Google’s privacy policy applies to those.

Where it’s kept, and for how long

Some of our service providers store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it’s subject to the laws of that country. We keep your information for as long as we need it for the reasons above, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete what we don’t need to keep by law. Just email sandra@cedarlinehvac.ca or call (604) 555-0477. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy commissioner for British Columbia.

Changes

If we change this policy, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top.
